    Register to Vote Today!   

 

Your vote matters. Check to see if you are registered to vote here. If you are not, in order to be eligible, you must be:

  • A United States citizen

  • At least 17 years old, though you may not vote until you have reached the age of 18

  • A resident of the county for 30 days before the election

  • A person not serving a sentence of incarceration as the result of a conviction of any indictable offense under the laws of this or another state or of the United States.

If you pass all four criteria, you are qualified to vote. To register, you must print the application, fill it out, follow the folding directions, and then mail it. 

 

Be sure to register before October 13th!

            Mail-in Ballot          

 

Those who don't intend to vote in person in November, after making sure you are registered, ​you can get a mail-in ballot.

 

To vote by mail, print out this application. Fill out the form, fold as instructed on the application, and then mail it.

 

Be sure to send in your application before October 30th. If you miss the deadline, you'll have to go to Bergen County Clerk to apply in person before 8:00PM on November 2nd.

If you're voting through MAIL, view this section.

After sending in your mail-in ballot, the state will send you your ballot and envelopes. Read it carefully and follow the instructions on the ballot to complete it and then return it. 

​

Ballots can be sent back through mail with a postmark on. Be sure to send it in before November 3rd, 2020 to be counted as a valid ballot if received before 8:00PM on November 10th. Ballots without a postmark that are received within 48 hours of closing polls on November 3rd will still be considered valid.

You can look up the closest polling sites here. If you have voted in-person before, there's no need to bring ID. However, if it is your first time voting in person within the county and didn't provide an ID number or copy of ID when you registered, you must show ID to vote.

 

Acceptable forms of IDs include: NJ's driver license; military or government ID; student ID; employee ID; store membership card; US passport; or bank statement, car registration, government check or document, rent receipt, sample ballot, utility bill, or any other official document.

If you are unable to provide an ID, you will be able to vote via provisional ballot.
